Urgent- BLS registrations by 27th Oct

  - Everyone who needs  a "full BLS course"   (for renewing the 2 years American Red Cross certificate)   has to contact Linzi Brown   until 27 Oct  at:   linzigerlachbrown@gmail.com - Deadline: 27 Oct 2023 - Linzi will send the link for the online portion of the course - cost of the course will be approx.  $10/10euro. - the  Online BLS-training  MUST  be completed prior to 18 Nov.! Check your validity -  go to Red Cross Learning Center, login, then there's a tab with current certifications and they can see if you're current or not. Refresher Cycle A- Must Do's for Patrollers2023 OEC All patrollers, also those who are abroad, coming to the refresher must do BEFORE arriving- 1)      To  prepare for the 2023 OEC Refresher Cycle A   Skill Session  in Hintertux. Log in to the Member site of  www.nsp.org , enroll and complete the 2023 OEC Refresher Cycle A Online Modules (instructions at the end of this email). -    There is again no physical, paper workbook this year or moving forward. Find attached a PDF-booklet with 2023 OEC Refresher Cycle A Skills Material as well as the OEC instructor’s Guide. -    Credit for the 2023 refresher will not be granted, until you have fully completed the online  portion  and  attended the in-person portion of the refresher. -    You will  not need to print your certificate  to bring to the in-person refresher. -    This refresher is designed to be taken in smaller sections. Stuttgart Chapter begins its annual Outdoor Emergency Care course.

  The National Ski Patrol chapter based in Stuttgart, Germany, began training a new group of patrol candidates this September.   Mr. George Roos, a long time Stuttgart Chapter member, leads the intensive training alongside many of the experienced local chapter members.  The classroom training will last 3 months, culminating for the candidates in both a written test, and a hands-on demonstration of life-saving techniques learned through the fall.  In the attached photo, Mr. Roos details the need for a thorough understanding of human anatomy to quickly and accurately assess patient injuries   Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) is the National Ski Patrol's (NSP) signature course offering.  This emergency medical responder course is tailored to the non-urban rescuer.  This course is required of all NSP patroller members, and is offered primarily through NSP patrols like the Stuttgart Chapter.
