The International Division of the National Ski Patrol completed their required annual refresher training from 18-19 November, 2023, in Hintertux, Austria. Over 30 members from across the globe gathered to refresh their First Aid, CPR, and on-the mountain skills over the 2-days session. On the first day, members cycled through multiple first aid refresher stations, including airway management and spinal immobilization (pictured).  On the second day, all the patrollers got their skis on - many for the first time this season - and took turns refreshing their alpine patroller skills both on the slopes and with the sled (also pictured).  The day the patrollers spent on the slopes had some challenging conditions, including high winds, steady precipitation and visibility that regularly dropped to zero.  Non-ideal weather conditions like these, while challenging, improve patroller proficiency by forcing patrollers to think farther ahead and rely more on their ...

Division Instructor's Standardization Clinic and 2024 OEC Refresher Cycle B Skills Session

Our annual Division Instructor's Standardization Clinic and 2024 OEC Refresher Cycle B Skills Session will take place this upcoming weekend on 24 August 2024 at Patch High School - Panzer Kaserne, Stuttgart/Böblingen, Germany Starting at 09:00 (9 AM), ending latest 18:00 (6 PM). Non US ID card holders- In order to get on Panzer Kaserne (military installation) it is mandatory to bring a valid passport/ID card.  We will meet at the entrance of Panzer Kaserne NLT 08:30 because US ID Card holders need to co-sign and escort Non-US ID Card holders onto the premises.  Pre Work- You need first to complete the “2024 OEC Refresher Cycle B Online Modules” and then enroll into the in-person portion of the refresher called “2024 OEC Refresher Cycle B Skills Session – International (Stuttgart)”, 24 August 2024 (more info see below). PSIA Alpine Refesher in Garmish, Germany

PSIA are hosting an Alpine Refresher clinic on 6-7 April on the Zugspitze, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany They're ging to focus on Off-Piste riding but will be flexible to conditions at hand. You'll be able to obtain 12 CEU credits for this course Cost of course- $200 plus lift tickets. And just for fun- If enough knuckle draggers are interested they might get that group going too.
